Facebook Messenger offers exciting and fun ways to stay connected with friends and family anywhere in the world. How can a website create a similar connection between new users and the incredible features of this standalone messaging app?
Inspiration for the web's style, typography, and color was drawn from the app to help connect the two.
We also created icons for each of the key features that match the style of icons within the app. These icons appear as part of a sticky navigation that also resembles the global navigation of the actual app.
To draw focus to the key aspects of each feature, I designed layouts where elements could break free from the screen. This also helped to add variety to the page along with reinforcing the messages being conveyed.
Stickers allow for fun interactions within Messenger's app, and we didn't want to miss out on the fun. We used these stickers in key moments throughout the website to add a little bit of silliness.
